A Message to my Subscribers

Standard

Happy New Year!!

2011 brought an overwhelming amount of change in my life. As I continued to answer the call God placed on my life, a lot happened:

  1. I started to reevaluate the purpose of this blog. If I was to continue investing time and energy on this blog I needed it to be glorifying to God and edifying to my subscribers. The majority of people who read this blog seemed to be more interested in the commentary than the sermon notes, so I took note of that.
  2. I decided to accelerate my master’s degree program and buckle down on classes, so I can finish in 2012. I will graduate this year, 12/2012!!!!
  3. As I completed my first year of marriage, I started to reevaluate what it means to be married. I started to truly acknowledge the ministry of being a wife, and how this should be taken seriously and put first on your list of ministries. As my pastor reminds us often, God instituted marriage and family BEFORE He instituted the church! This is not to say that you should abandon ministry at your church to make your husband happy (or wife for my men out there). This was just something that I learned in my first year and I hope to share the lessons I learned with you all.
  4. I accepted my call to preach! After years of wrestling with it I finally gave in… God placed this calling on my life years ago, but I fought that thing hard. Not wanting to deal with the drama of being a woman preacher, I engulfed myself in ministries that were “appropriate” for me and hoped that He would just be happy with that…Nope! The call weighed heavier and heavier on my heart until I couldn’t take it anymore! I spoke with my pastor, parents, and mentors last year and announced my calling this past Sunday.

With this being said, I am refocusing the goal of this blog. I will share reflections, videos, articles, and scriptures that I believe will be beneficial to people that are hungry for God, like me. I pray this blog serves as a compliment to the Word God gives you daily. Please keep an eye out for my first blog…coming soon.

God Bless!
